SOA26

SOA26 programme

We are currently developing next year's programme and will share announcements as they are confirmed. In the meantime, please find the opening plenary below:

Keynote Speaker: Dr Kevin Fong
Chair: Professor Ramani Moonesinghe

Start SOA 2026 with a session designed to spark curiosity and set the tone for the next 25 years of intensive care. Dr Kevin Fong - physician, NASA researcher, broadcaster, and internationally recognised expert on risk and resilience - will open the Congress with a keynote that draws on his remarkable career spanning medicine, engineering, exploration, and extreme environments. With his unique perspective and storytelling skill, it promises to be an unforgettable start to the meeting.

Following the keynote, Professor Ramani Moonesinghe will lead a “sofa session” with the presidents of our three leading critical care societies: Marlies Ostermann (ESICM)Jack Parry-Jones (FICM), and Shondipon Laha (ICS). Together, they will reflect on the future of intensive care.

This is a rare chance to hear four of the most influential voices in critical care share their insights in an open and dynamic conversation.
