Abstracts

At the Intensive Care Society’s State of the Art meeting, we are keen to showcase all the great work that is taking place across the country, be it critical care research, audit, innovations or interesting clinical cases. This year we have had the greatest number of abstract submissions and have shortlisted six highest scoring ones to be presented. The winning abstract and speaker will be announced in the closing plenary on 2 July 2026.

ICS President and Consultant in Critical Care Medicine and Anaesthesia, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Shondipon is a Consultant in intensive care and anaesthesia at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Intensive Care Society's Honorary Secretary. He is also the Society's Learning Division Chair leading the education and ultrasound programme across the UK.

Shondipon is also Honorary President of the Association of North Western ICUs (ANWICU).
