Kevin Latchem
I qualified as an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner in 2019 at Kings College Hospital (KCH) where I still work today. Clinically I still care for patients on our ICUs, as part of our Outreach team and as a member of the ICU trauma team in A&E. Prior to my ACCP training I worked as a critical care nurse for 12 years in both Leeds and London.
I have led my team of 30 ACCPs since 2022 and have supported numerous trainee ACCPs through their training. I recently became lead for the Advanced Critical Care MSc at University College London where I provide professional leadership to trainees across the UK.
I have a passion for research and have been an associate principle investigator for trials and studies at KCH, as well as supporting local PhD students with their research.
I have a great deal to offer the national community of advanced practitioners within critical care, particularly smaller or more isolated teams. I am particularly interested in the ICS work on humanising care and in staff wellbeing.
