Council Elections 2026
We are looking for two members of the Intensive Care Society to join the Council of the Society. These roles are open to any eligible member in the Intensive Care Society’s membership. If you would like to be part of our Council and contribute to the future of intensive care, apply now and have your voice heard!
The vacancies are open to eligible members in the Intensive Care Society’s membership from all professions. To apply, please complete and submit the online nomination by 19 October at 9am.
Role profile
The Society’s Elected Council is integral to the successful delivery of our refreshed strategy 2023-2028. To understand the important role and responsibilities, please see the role profile [LINK].
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible for nomination, you must:
- Be a fully paid-up member of the Society.
- Be a member of the profession represented by the specific PAG.
- Be based in the UK (we cannot accept nominations from those currently living or working abroad).
Please note: These are voluntary positions. If the number of nominations exceeds the available places, the appointment will proceed to a formal ballot.
How to apply
Please complete the nomination form that includes:
- A 200-word statement explaining your motivation to join our Council. This statement will be seen by your colleagues during the ballot process. Please ensure it meets the required word count and clearly outlines why you are the right person for the role.
- The details of two Society members (a proposer and a seconder) supporting your application - NOTE that proposer and seconder have to be an ICS member.
Please submit your nomination by 19 October at 9am via the online nomination form.
If more than one successful nomination is received, a ballot period will take place in November.
