FUSIC® is a practical solution to training in focused Hemodynamics (HD) ultrasound for adult intensive care.

Getting Started

  • The updated FUSIC® HD curriculum takes effect on Sunday 1 February 2026. From this date, all logbooks must use the new reporting form, including the additional required measurements. Candidates already working toward FUSIC® HD accreditation do not need to restart their logbooks, and scans completed before the change will still be accepted without the new measurements. This phased transition supports fairness and allows time to adapt to the revised dataset. All examinations from 2026 onward will assess the new competencies.
  • Please refer to the most up to date FUSIC® HD documentation, which can be found here and includes: the FUSIC® HD Complete Guide, Updates Document, and FUSIC® HD Training Pack, to ensure a clear understanding of the requirements for performing and reporting a comprehensive HD ultrasound.
  • Download the new FUSIC® HD Assessment Pack and Reporting Form to undertake your training.
  • Identify an approved FUSIC® HD Trainer in your unit to oversee your accreditation. If you cannot find a local Trainer please contact our Learning Team on who can help you find one.
  • Register by adding FUSIC® HD to your basket.
  • Complete the online training on our FUSIC® Portal or attend an approved face-to-face course.
  • Perform the appropriate supervised and unsupervised scans, and document these in your logbook.
  • Have your logbook assessed by your Trainer who confirms that you have the necessary competencies.

Submit your assessment documents via the FUSIC® Portal. Your full submission must include the following documents:

  • Signed Competency Assessment and Summary Training Record - Ensure your trainer is registered with the Society.
  • 50 Reporting Forms/Scans (minimum number of supervised & unsupervised scans) - All scans must be anonymised with no patient-identifiable data.
  • Completed and Signed Training Logbook Summary/Case List.
  • Confirmation that you hold FUSIC® Heart and FUSIC® Lung Accreditation or provide evidence of approved equivalents such as FEEL, BSE Level 1 (for Heart), and FAMUS (for Lung).
  • Pass a practical and theoretical examination (run centrally) further guidance regarding the final examination can be accessed in the training pack.

Accreditation (first to last component) must be completed within 24 months. Logbook collection (first to last scan) must be completed within 12 months.
