Helena Rampley | Occupational Therapist
Helena is a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist based at Harefield Hospital, Middlesex, where she works within cardiothoracic intensive care and supports heart and lung transplant patients throughout their treatment journey. She is a member of the UK OT ECMO Network and currently chairs the UK OT Transplant Network.
Helena recently completed a Trust research fellowship exploring the lived experiences of patients undergoing awake ECMO and short-term mechanical circulatory support in intensive care. With a background in humanities and creative writing, she is interested in taking an interdisciplinary approach to further exploring patient experience whilst on ST-MCSD and engagement in occupation.
Helena is passionate about educating the next generation of occupational therapists and supporting them to develop the knowledge and skills to recognise and promote the value of meaningful occupation within critical care. She is a member of the Education Committee and contributes to occupational therapy education through guest lecturing at Brunel University London and King’s College London.
