Elizabeth Felton | Occupational Therapist

Elizabeth is a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Critical Care, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. She holds extensive clinical experience across all ICU specialities, with a specialist interest in early rehabilitation and complex patient pathway management to support long term functional, psychological and cognitive recovery. 

She is passionate about research as a means of improving outcomes for critically ill patients. She has completed a MRes in Clinical Health Research at the University of Birmingham, identifying the most important and frequently used OT interventions in UK ICUs. She has presented locally, nationally, and internationally, including on the ICS education liver study day on the role of the OT in ICU and at the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine congresses in 2019 and 2022, where her work was published and recognised with the Best AHP&N Abstract Award in 2019.

She is an active member of local and national ICU OT peer support groups including UK OT ECMO Network and UK OT Transplant Network.
