Prashant Nasa

Dr Prashant Nasa is a CR&I Research Fellow in Critical Care Medicine at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, UK, with over 20 years' experience in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine across the UK, United Arab Emirates, and India.

He has a strong academic and research portfolio, with an H-index of 26, more than 150 peer-reviewed publications, and over 50 book chapters in critical care medicine. His research interests include acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), mechanical ventilation, fluid stewardship, abdominal compartment syndrome, and clinical research methodology. In recognition of his academic contributions, he received the UAE Excellence in Healthcare Research Award (2023–2024).

Dr Nasa is Co-Editor of Rational Use of IV Fluids in Critically Ill Patients, an internationally recognised textbook with over 1.7 million accesses. He serves as an Associate Editor of the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine, Guest Editor for BMC Anesthesiology and BMC Infectious Diseases, and leads the Delphi Studies Section of the PROVE Network (Netherlands).

As a member of the Intensive Care Society's Professional Advisory Group (PAG) Advisory Committee for SAS Doctors, Dr Nasa is committed to supporting the professional development, representation, and career progression of SAS doctors while promoting excellence in patient-centred critical care.
