Jason Osbourne
I am an SAS Specialty Doctor in Intensive Care Medicine at the James Paget University Hospital, with a clinical career spanning over three decades across military, pre-hospital, emergency, remote, and critical care environments. I began my medical career in the British Army as a Combat Medical Technician, later progressing to Special Forces Patrol Medic then Offshore Rig Medic before completing my MBBS at the University of East Anglia in 2007.
I have developed broad expertise across acute and critical care, holding senior roles in Emergency Medicine, Ambulatory Care, and Intensive Care. My current portfolio includes work as a Hyperbaric Doctor and as a Topside Physician supporting the oil and gas industry, alongside ongoing clinical commitments in ICU.
I am an experienced educator, serving as a long-standing Problem-Based Learning tutor at the UEA Medical School and a faculty member on our Clinical Procedures Skills Course. I am actively involved in quality improvement, and patient-safety–focused initiatives, and am currently undertaking the Diploma in Remote and Offshore Medicine with the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care.
I bring a diverse background in complex, high-risk medical environments and a deep commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration, I am proud to serve as the Staff and Associate Specialist Representative on the Intensive Care Society’s Professional Advisory Group, advocating for the interests and development of SAS clinicians and the professional recognition of our vital workforce within Intensive Care.
