A session for new and junior staff, or for more senior staff needing a refresh on their self management of stress at work. In this session, Dr Katherine O'Neill, Clinical Psychologist in ICU, will help you consider the skills you will need to manage yourself within ICU and offering psychological preparedness for the role ahead.
Dr Katherine O’Neill has extensive experience of working as a Principal and Consultant Clinical Psychologist, specialising in working within medical contexts with both staff and patients. She is currently developing a clinical psychology service within a busy critical care unit and, since the pandemic, has worked as an associate with the ICS as part of their staff support programme. She has recently been involved in developing a service for colleagues across an acute NHS trust, with a predominant focus on anticipatory interventions to help buffer the impact of working within healthcare and on supporting and developing leaders. She has a longstanding interest in developing cohesive and supportive healthcare teams, has led the development of award-winning services for patients with long term physical health needs and provides leadership development coaching in both the NHS and private sectors.
