Giles Farrington | Operating Department Practitioner
Giles is an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) employed by York St John University as a lecturer on the Operating Department Practice MSc pathway. He has over 30 years’ experience within the military and the NHS, his last clinical role was as Lead ODP for critical care at York Hospital. Giles contributed to the development of the ICS AHP Capability Framework as Professional Lead for Operating Department Practice. Giles completed his MSc in Health Professions Education recently. In his dissertation, he looked at whether ODPs had the theoretical and practical skills to work in the post-pandemic critical care environment. Giles is a Fellow of the College of Operating Department Practitioners.
