Deputy Chair of the National Rehabilitation Collaborative
The Society is seeking two Deputy Chairs of the National Rehabilitation Collaborative
Launched in 2020, the Collaborative is focussed on the development of post ICU patient rehabilitation best practice.
This post is designed to develop the work of the National Rehabilitation Collaborative of the Society at this important juncture and our relationships with key stakeholders in this area.
Rehabilitation and recovery are priorities for the multi-professional team in critical care and the Society seeks to build a cohesive strategy to progress this work. This includes supporting the findings of the NCEPOD study on rehabilitation post critical illness due for publication in 2025. The post holders will ensure collaborative working with Society’s strategic partners, including UKCCNA, FICM and all AHP representative organisations as well as the ICS Professional Advisory Groups.
The post requires vision, expertise in rehabilitation and considerable drive to ensure its success. The Deputy Chair will work closely with the Chair and have the support of the Chairs of the Standards Division and the Professional Affairs Division.
The Collaborative is chaired by Professor David McWilliams, who is leading the NCEPOD study into rehabilitation and recovery following critical illness.
Current Deputy Chair, Kate Tantam, Specialist Sister in ICU, will work alongside the incoming Deputy Chairs to ensure a smooth transition.
