Inside Intensive Care: Safely implementing peripheral intravenous infusions of noradrenaline in Critical Care

This session will provide an educational overview of the use of peripheral noradrenaline in critical care including the evidence supporting its use, potential benefits and its limitations. 

Relevant clinical governance requirements, patient indicators and common clinical scenarios where peripheral noradrenaline maybe appropriate will be discussed. 

Practical challenges will be explored using a worked prescription examples and a case study, alongside discussion of safe administration and monitoring practices for nursing and medical staff including extravasation concerns. 

The session will conclude with an open question-and-answer segment to encourage multidisciplinary discussion and clarify local practice considerations.
