Our response to the latest HSIB report

The Intensive Care Society (ICS) welcomes the latest report published by the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch on the ‘Transfer of Critically Ill Adults’.

In 2011, the ICS published national guidance on the ‘Transfer of the critically ill adult’ -dead link(referenced in the report) and has been working hard to update and revise this document ready for release this year.

It has been, and always will be, one of the responsibilities of the Society to supply or provide guidance to ensure the safety of critically ill patients. We look forward to working with the Department of Health and Social Care and our partners to ensure a collaborative and unified approach to enhancing the safety of patients.
