Intensive Care Leaders Recognised in 2026 New Year Honours List

 

The Intensive Care Society is immensely proud to congratulate those who have been recognised in His Majesty The King’s 2026 New Year Honours list.

We are delighted to congratulate:

  • Lynsey Russell, Senior Charge Nurse of the Intensive Care Unit at the Borders General Hospital, who was awarded an OBE for services to the NHS
  • Dr Fiona Donald, former President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists who was awarded an OBE for services to Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine.

These prestigious awards highlight the exceptional dedication, leadership, and expertise present within the UK’s critical care community. We are incredibly grateful for Fiona’s support to the Society during the pandemic. 

The recipients represent the very best of our multi-professional specialty, demonstrating unwavering commitment to caring for the sickest patients and their families.
