ICU. I See You.

Intensive care is there for people during some of the most serious and uncertain moments of their lives.

Behind every monitor, treatment and decision are people bringing expertise, compassion and humanity to patients and families every day.

This Intensive Care Week, we're asking everyone to stop, recognise, thank and celebrate them.

What is Intensive Care Week?

From 7-13 September, Intensive Care Week brings people across the UK together to recognise and celebrate intensive care and the multi-professional community behind it.

This year's theme, I See You, is a simple message of recognition for everyone who contributes to intensive care.

Whether you work in intensive care, have experienced it as a patient or family member, or simply want to show your support, we'd love you to get involved.

What do you see?

See expertise

Intensive care brings together an extraordinary range of knowledge, skills and professions around patients with the most complex needs.

See compassion

For patients and loved ones, small moments of kindness can be remembered long after an intensive care stay has ended.

See teamwork

Intensive care depends on people working together - across professions, roles, departments and services - around the clock, 24/7.

See the person

Behind the equipment and the clinical complexity is always a person, their family, their life and everything they hope to return to.

Intensive Care Week is our opportunity to see all of it.

Celebrate with your team

Get your team together, share a message of appreciation or simply make time to recognise what you achieve together.

Show us how you're celebrating using #IntensiveCareWeek and #ICW26, and tag the Intensive Care Society so we can share your stories.

Give something back to intensive care

At the end of Intensive Care Week, we'll be launching GIVE24, the Intensive Care Society's annual fundraising appeal.

From 24 October - 24 November 2026, we're inviting people across the UK to give something back to intensive care - whether that's 24 hours, £24, a fundraising challenge or simply helping us spread the word.

Money raised helps the Society support education and training, research, patient and family information, and initiatives that improve intensive care.
