Trainee Advisory Group Nominations

Join our Trainee Advisory Group in 2023 to help shape the future of intensive care.

Our Trainee Advisory Group (TAG) is looking for five new members to join the team, to help represent their trainee colleagues at a national level. If you want to be part of shaping the future of intensive care then we need you!

The members of our TAG help shape all areas of our work, from Standards and Guidelines, to Sustainability and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and their expertise and input is vital.

The group will play a key role in helping to deliver our 2023-27 Strategy, and to shape the future of ICU for Trainees and your wider critical care colleagues.

Your role on the TAG

By joining our Trainee Advisory Group you will be:

  • Ensuring that your profession has a voice at the table. The TAG is the mechanism through which the views and expertise of our Trainee members are represented at Council
  • Providing advice and expertise in matters relating to your profession to the Society's Council through the Professional Affairs Division
  • Promoting and supporting the work of the Society

Eligibility

To nominate for a place on our TAG you must be a fully paid up member of the Society and hold a Trainee Years 1-4 or Trainee Years 5-7 membership. We encourage all trainees to nominate to join the TAG, regardless of your level of experience or seniority.

All group members must be based in hte UK, so please be aware that we cannot accept nominations from those currenlty living and working elsewhere.

How to nominate

Nominations close at 12pm on Monday 6 February. To complete your nominations please follow the steps below.

  1. Complete our online nomination form.
  2. Include details of both a proposer and seconder. Both must be Society members.
  3. Make sure you're satisfied with your written statement, and that it meets the word count. This will be the statement your colleagues see, so make sure you're happy with it!
  4. Declare any conflicts of interest.
  5. Submit your form before the deadline of 12pm Monday 6 February.
  6. Send us a headshot and brief biography (2-3 sentences) to [email protected]

Please be aware

  • A role on our TAG is voluntary
  • You must be UK based
  • If we receive more than five nominations we will proceed to the voting stage conducted via our usual election process.
  • Successful candidates will formally take up their places at our Annual Members Meeting in December 2023
