SUMMARY:ICS Education: Animal Assisted Intervention in Critical Care
DESCRIPTION:Animal assisted intervention is a vital part of humanisation of critical care. Patients regularly describe the positive impact of having one of the therapy team visit them in hospital; and we often hear how staff also find the visits uplifting and they want to be on shift when it’s therapy dog visit day.  During the pandemic patient isolation has been a significant concern, not just from family and friends but also from our therapy teams.  Join us as we discuss the positive impact AAI has on patients and staff, how we have developed new ways of interacting with therapy teams during COVID, and lastly just to catch up with some of the furry stars of AAI.\n
