Step into the bigger picture of intensive care

Day one will cover the challenges of shaping practice today, from clinical frontiers, complex decision-making, and the human side of critical care.

Expect lively debates on topics such as the future of ICU technology, alongside radiology masterclasses, mentorship opportunities, and sessions exploring sepsis and organ donation. Day one concludes with our annual ‘Rising Star’ session, where early career researchers will share their valuable projects in a bid to become the Rising Star of SOA26.

Get to the forefront of research and innovation

Day two will showcase the latest clinical research including findings from iRehab, MARCH, ANDOMEDA2 and BICAR-ICU. These sessions will emcompass a relevant clinical update, alongside review of key findings and consideration for implementation into practice.

Join conversations around law and ethics, infection management, how innovation is shaping the future of ICU, and the launch of our anticipated JLA Research Priorities.

It’s a day grounded in data but focused on real-world impact.

Focus on people, recovery and what comes next

Day three will cover health inequalities, recovery, workforce wellbeing and the future direction of the specialty. The day will include the NCEPOD Rehabilitation report one year on and discussions on GPICS version 3, alongside clinical updates in dysphagia, ECMO and pharmacy.

It brings together the human and systemic side of intensive care, with a clear focus on what needs to change and what comes next.
